Nani was awarded a penalty kick in the 57th minute, but couldn't capitalize. His shot was saved by LAFC goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer who guessed correctly and was up to the challenge. Just three minutes later, LAFC scored to take the 1-0 lead.
